For each performance-item
in each concert attended, the following information
was recorded: 1) Composition title, 2) Raga, 3) Tala,
4) Composer, and 5) whether the composition opened/closed
the concert or whether it appeared as the “main”
item in the concert. The database can be search by
any of these fields.
Inevitably, some information
(such as the featured raga, the composer’s name,
etc.) was not always known to the research assistants,
and performers were not always accessible after concerts
to answer such questions. Users of this database are
encouraged to contact our team to supply added information,
if known. Your assistance, which will contribute to
a more thorough and useful database, is greatly appreciated.
